Charter
To promote interoperability of Information Cards between card issuers and relying parties (e.g. apps and websites) by increasing reuse of common claim types.
Objectives
- Create a catalog on http://informationcard.net of claim type
- Define a lightweight process to respond to the expected continuous requests by card issuers to define new claim types
- Reuse existing attribute URIs from existing identity-related schemas where possible, defining new URIs only where no pre-existing URI can be found
- Long term: ensure that new URIs defined in the catalog are dereference-able to machine processible metadata descriptions.
- Reach out to the Liberty and OpenID and other groups to work towards common attribute/claim definitions
- Coordinate activities with the (currently dormant) Identity Commons WG: http://identityschemas.org and its vision of a dictionary/thesaurus service
